Grant to PGS:
The biggest item that the money goes to is a grant to the School
District, so that Peter G. Schmidt teachers can access extra money
for assemblies, school-wide motivation/appreciation, library, music,
P.E., and art, along with every grade getting money to use, in whatever
way they wish. This year the grant is budgeted at $15,000.
Emergency fund to help students and their
families in need:
On request from PGS staff, the PTA will cover the cost of a student
to attend school functions or purchase needed supplies who would
other wise not be able to participate.
Free Events:
All of the events sponsored by PGS PTA are offered
at no cost to the families. See the link "Activities We Sponsor"
on the left of this page for a list of these events.
Purchase Equipment:
Over the years PGS PTA has purchased items for use at the
school such as:
- Popcorn machine
- Picnic tables in the new playground area
- Die cut machine for teachers.
Americorp volunteer:
PGS PTA pays for the this volunteer when one is offered.
College scholarships:
Every year PGS PTA awards college scholarships totaling $1000 to
high school students who were former Peter G. students.
